8.  Sympathetic co-operation/help in any social problem of the inhabitants of the locality.
9.  To represent and pursue with the competent authorities on behalf of the people of Vivekanandanagar for their any kind of social needs.

In a general body meeting held in 2004, we planned to undertake a major developmental project for the overall upliftment of the social life of the local residents. The following were considered to be important by the newly constituted development committee :-

• Football Ground
• Children Park
• Students’ Library with study room
• Merit Scholarship for economically backward students
• Swimming Pool
• Gymnasium
• Community Hall

We have been successful in constructing a Children Park and Football Ground, Volleyball Ground, Vivekananda Park and we are extremely happy to see that these new facilities are regularly used by the people at large..

It gives us great pleasure in bringing to your kind attention that very recently during 2009, we had started a new social project i.e. VIVEK MERIT SCHOLARSHIP for the meritorious and economically-challenged students of HOWRAH DISTRICT ONLY (scoring 90% marks in aggregate) which is covering all their educational expenses throughout the year. This has been possible only by the donation of local people, well-wisher of outside West Bengal and the Non-Resident Indians. Now, the 2nd Phase of the Library is to be completed. Needless to mention, the proposed library will benefit the It is anticipated that the young students i.e. the future responsible citizen of the nation, in particular, will be greatly benefited.

We are also planning for a Study Centre over the building of our Students' Library where we can also start a FREE Coaching Centre for the economically backward students as well as a Computer Learning Centre.

We had also planned to conduct a Volleyball/ Basketball Coaching Centre for girls ground of which have already been completed. We are searching for Sponsor to run the Coaching Centre as with our limited fund we are not at all capable to run and continue this Centre.

Currently we are facing considerable pressure in Children’s Park for short-space and want of some more toys. Regularly 200 children alongwith their parents are coming to the park. The park needs to be more spacious and more toys are to be installed to provide better entertainment for the children.
