COMMUNITY CENTRE

OVERVIEW

The establishment of a Community Centre will be a good project for community development, where we can organise our well-reputed Karate and Yoga Coaching Camps, the social organisations/local people/institutions can host their various programme/events. This will be a public location where members of a community may gather for group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes.

We have number of projects which are being run in the open field due to non-availability of buildings. We have been conducting the Yoga Coaching Centre, Karate Coaching Centre, Drawing Classes, Blood Donation Camp, Health Checking Camp etc., in open air. Ideally, we need covered space for such activities particularly during the rainy season. But for want of funds, we could not construct the necessary building. Apart from that, the local school/colleges and other institutions have been performing their various programme throughout the year in our playground, resulting in our huge-invested playground getting damaged day-by-day.

If such a Community Centre can be established, we can shift those projects under one roof.  We can organise various cultural/social programmes and we can encourage and host such events by other institutions. The Centre can also be used for Vocational Training, Study Centre, Meeting of Discussion Group, Conferences, Get-together etc.

OBJECTIVE

To build-up a well-infrastructured Centre which will be utilised for –

1. Operating VYS’s various Project under a centrally-located area such as Yoga Coaching Centre, Karate Coaching Centre, Drawing Classes, Blood Donation Camp, Health Checking Camp etc.
2. Conducting Executive Committee Meetings/General Meetings of the organisation (we don’t have such a room as yet)
3. Hosting various cultural/sports/social programmes by VYS as well as other Institutions/Organisations
4. Organising Vocational Training, Non-Formal Coaching Centre
5. Meeting/Seminar/Conference of various Discussion Groups.
